Well this wasn't what I thought it'd be, it turned out to be a pretty fun ride with lots of fun sounds. Just enough variety to keep it from getting stale at any point, and the music was always catchy.
Simple but fun.
I want that beginning "Spike" song on a 10 hour loop :p It reminds me of Bomberman 64 music for some reason.

scibot9000 responds:

this is exactly the reaction I was aiming for!

as for the "spike" song at the beginning: I wrote the entire soundtrack as a single song, and added the animation later. I uploaded the song to newgrounds's audio section if you'd like to check it out. :)

thanks for the review!

Why do I love this so much? Oh I could watch it again and again. The concept was sweet and at the same time nostalgic, a little Super Mario Bros. 3 meets Metal Slug. Their talking sounds were adorable and the music kept everything fun and gave it a lot of energy. You did a good thing here.

StudioJOHO responds:

Cheers man

I had to keep right clicking and checkmarking "play" to get it to run. Clicking on the text boxes doesn't work :( Looks like it had potential though, might wanna reupload it.

I like all the little bits and pieces used in this, like when you illustrated Ego's theory about Rareware by using the little SNES cartridges and such. How come the crumpled paper background is so popular in flash these days though?
One of the better Game Grumps animations I think.

PrinceTrunks responds:

lol, not sure why it's popular but it fits most of the time XD

I couldn't read what he said before he farted on the ninja's head, but other than that it was fun.

rm120 responds:

Thanks for you review ;)

Pretty fun, knowing nothing about League of Legends I was still able to enjoy it :)
Might wanna fix the loop though!

Olynyte responds:

Thanks :)
Yeah, dunno why it's looping...

Fun video!

Never seen Haruhi but would love to. The voice acting was top notch, as usual! Last I heard, Haushinka got hired for a couple of professional dubs, which is awesome, that's where a voice like hers belongs. I also liked the simplistic yet consistent (aka not shitty) art style used in this flash. Does it sound weird that it reminded me of an SNES video game? Oh well, I thought this video was great fun!

omegafinal responds:

Ah yes, I heard from her about that as well. It did sound weird that you likened my style to old-school SNES, but I can see it in a few RPGs.

Morbid but cool.

I felt bad for the guy, imagine being eaten by all those tiny butterfly mouths. Good work though.

KimKilledPacho responds:

You'd think it would have taken more than 4 seconds. Thanks man.

good sprite flash

you managed to have a good story without having to put the characters in too many positions that look unnatural, that's usually a big problem with most sprite flashes.

that was a good storyline too, and you get bonus points for having the bolero of fire play in the background :p

Spritegenius responds:

ah.. good ol' bolero of fire. hasn't let me down once.

hahaha

this was a good idea, it made me laugh.

Maxacutioner responds:

thanks :-D
